I recently had the chance to ask Jonelle Torchia some questions about her journey as a ballerina. She graces the stage with pure elegance, beauty and joy. Her dedication to ballet is incredible. Below are her results.
Q1: When did you start ballet?
I started ballet when I was 4 years old.
Q2: Where do you currently dance?

Q3: How long have you been en pointe for?
I’ve been en pointe for 5 years now.
Q4: What pointe shoes do you currently wear?

Q5: How did you first get involved in ballet?
My mom put me in because my older sister danced.
Q6: What is your favourite variation?
I love the Lilac Fairy variation from Sleeping Beauty.
Q7: What company would you love to work for?
I would love to work for ABT, but honestly as long as I’m dancing I’d be happy.
Q8: Do you have a favourite memory/moment in ballet?
When I performed Clara in The Nutcracker. It was my first big role and I loved being able to tell a story.

Q10: Best advice you’ve ever received from a teacher?
Leave your troubles at the door & just dance.

Q12: What do you like to do when you aren’t dancing (your free time)?
I like going to the beach, spending time with friends/family, doing my nails and playing with makeup.
