Q&A With American Ballerina Maddie Goodman

I recently had the chance to ask Maddie Goodman some questions about her incredible journey as a ballerina. Maddie is a phenomenal dancer, she graces the stage with beauty and poise. Her dedication and love for ballet is amazing. Below are her responses.

Q1: When did you start ballet?

I started dancing when I was 5

Q2: Where do you currently dance?

I just finished my second year at Cary Ballet Conservatory, but I just graduated out so I haven’t decided where I will be this upcoming year

Q3: How long have you been en pointe for?

I have been on pointe since I was 8 so 9 Years

Q4: What pointe shoes do you currently wear?

I am part of Team Capezio so I wear a custom Capezio shoe based off the Glisse Pro

Q5: How did you first get involved in ballet?

My mom put me in Ballet when I was little because I would walk all over our house on my tippy toes

Q6: What is your favourite variation?

Aurora Sleeping Beauty 16th Birthday so Act 1

Q7: What company would you love to work for?

One of my all time Favorite Company’s that I would love to work with is PNB

Q8: Do you have a favourite memory/moment in ballet?

One of my favorite moments was one that just happened I am currently at USAIBC and for the Opening Ceremony we walked down the isle of the theater with our Country’s and it was the best feeling ever or my second favorite was definitely performing both of our ensembles at YAGP Finals

Q9: Who are your ballet roles models? Dancers that inspire you.

Tiler Peck is my biggest inspiration

Q10: Best advice you’ve ever received from a teacher?

One of my Ballet teachers at Cary Ballet Conservatory told me to really  step out in every step because it gets me more on my leg. It seems like a simply Correction I should’ve already known, but it helped me so much!

Classical tutu

Q12: What do you like to do when you aren’t dancing (your free time)?

I love to craft or play with my puppies
