Q&A With American Ballerina Lindsey Belsky

I had the opportunity recently to ask Lindsey Belsky some questions about her journey as a ballerina. Lindsey is a phenomenal dancer, she graces the stage with incredible poise and elegance. Her passion and love for ballet is incredible. Below are her responses.

Q1: When did you start ballet?

I started ballet when I was 2 years old!

Q2: Where do you currently dance?

California dance theatre!

Q3: How long have you been en pointe for?

3.5 years

Q4: What pointe shoes do you currently wear?

Freed classic

Q5: How did you first get involved in ballet?

My mom started me in mommy and me ballet class and I loved it! I constantly wanted to be front and center haha! She knew it was for me!

Q6: What is your favourite variation?

Flames of Paris!

Q7: What company would you love to work for?

I am so open to many companies and to see where god takes me, but Royal ballet, English National, Paris Oprea, ABT, and Miami city ballet are all amazing!

Q8: Do you have a favourite memory/moment in ballet?

Yes! When I was a gingerbread cookie in the nutcracker and jumped out from under the giant skirt and saw my parents directly front and center in the audience! The entire time I could not keep my eyes off of them and loved seeing them front and center, I was not expecting that haha!

Q9: Who are your ballet roles models? Dancers that inspire you.

Misty Copland, Tiler Peck, Ariana Dewing, Natalia Osipova, Petra Conti , Kathryn Morgan, Lucia Licara, and so many more!

Q10: Best advice you’ve ever received from a teacher?

Don’t let other girls tell you what you should or should not do and let them dictate your journey. Don’t let anybody else intimidate you because my hard work and passion will take me far and other girls that are not kind to me will only bring me down❤️

Q11: Classical or romantic tutu?

Classical!

Q12: What do you like to do when you aren’t dancing (your free time)?

Thinking about this question makes me realize how little free time I have Lol! I absolutely LOVE yoga, pilates, swimming, going to the beach with my family, watching movies, spending quality time with my family, attempting to play soccer with my amazing soccer playing sister, but MOST OF ALL cooking and baking delicious vegan meals! I love experimenting in the kitchen and showing people how delicious veganism is! I am very passionate about it!
